Explore LNPDB
Browse structures from 42 studies, with experimental formulations grouped under each lipid. The dataset also retains 269 supplier catalog records, clearly identified when no experimental data are available.
Experimental filters must match within the same source record. Molecular weights shown in this view are calculated from SMILES; original LNPDB values remain in the details.
About the patent collection
This collection brings together patent-associated lipid structures for researchers exploring LNP chemistry. Browse molecular structures alongside CAS numbers, molecular formulas, molecular weights, company and institution labels, patent identifiers, source years, and linker annotations. Each entry links to its listed patent publication.
The 8,673 source rows have been consolidated into 5,637 entries representing 5,635 distinct structures. Identical rows appearing in several worksheets are grouped, with every worksheet and row location retained. Structure diagrams are generated from the supplied SMILES, preserving stated stereochemistry and disconnected components. Names, classifications, company labels and year fields reflect the source collection; consult the linked patent document for its original bibliographic information. This is a collected reference set, not an exhaustive or current census of all lipid patents.

From published structures to experimental context
What is included
This edition includes all 19,797 records in the author-provided LNPDB CSV: 19,528 experimental records from 42 studies and 269 catalog records. The 12,845 distinct submitted SMILES normalize to 12,837 exact structures. Every source record and all 66 original fields are retained. The LNPDB study collection described in the paper is current to August 2025; its 2026 publication date does not imply coverage of all 2026 studies.
There are 109 exact structure matches with the existing patent collection. Across both collections, this edition contains 18,363 distinct structures. Patent records and literature records retain their own provenance.
How to interpret the data
Different studies use different assays, normalization and dose conventions. Readouts are displayed with their method and experimental context; values should not be used as a universal efficacy ranking. A target label describes the experiment and does not by itself establish organ selectivity. Catalog records have no experimental formulation or delivery result.
Original SMILES, source values and record identifiers are preserved. Structure grouping uses canonical isomeric SMILES without neutralizing charges or assigning missing stereochemistry. This integration has not independently revalidated every structure and assay against its original publication.
