Formula to molecular weight

Calculate average molar mass from a chemical formula, including parentheses, salts and hydrates.

Your inputs

Case-sensitive: C27H46O, Ca(OH)2 or CuSO4·5H2O. A dot separates hydrate/adduct components; atom counts must be whole numbers.

Results

Enter your inputs and select Calculate.

Calculations run in your browser. Exports contain your inputs and results.

Calculation basis

Sum atom count × standard atomic weight. Supports the 84 elements with CIAAW abridged standard weights. The result is average molar mass, not monoisotopic mass. No isotope labels, ionic-charge suffixes or variable polymer repeat counts.
